BLEND: A Comic About Tea By Cara McGee
This is the first multi-page comic I’ve done in about a year, and it was so much fun to do, despite not sleeping for about a week to get it all done. Here’s a nice preview of the first six pages! I may post the full comic online one of these days, but until then, you can buy a full copy of the comic from me at any of the cons I’ll be at this summer, including 221b Con this weekend, and C2E2 at the end of the month! Each copy of the comic also comes with a sample pack of the tea that the comic is based on*!*tea may or may not give you bad ass, dragon fighting dreams.
Working on a hand-painted pub sign for 221B-Con. I’m not sure how long it’ll take to make, so there may just be the one, but who knows? I’d like to make a John sign, too.
In just a couple of weeks, the second Crogan Adventures radio episode from Decoder Ring Theatre will air, featuring the return of Catfoot Crogan! In the meantime, here’s a paper figure set featuring a few (six) of the characters from the show!

p.s. Bear with me if the link behaves differently from previously posted sets. I’m working to transition everything away from my SCAD web space, which I previously used to host files.
Oh, my! The first episode of the Crogan Adventures Radio Shows went up and I forgot to post it on tumblr! My apologies. Between school and projects, some things slip my mind.
Here it is… The Heart of Mabel Cottonshot!
Starring
Robert Westgate as Benjamin Crogan
Clarissa Denederlanden as Mabel Cottonshot
Gregg Taylor as Charlie the Bartender
Kevin Robinson as Henry Scrugg
Christopher Mott as Earl
Hans Messersmith as Harold the Barker
and
Scott Moyle as Hatteburg
with additional voices by Ryan Sero and, well, me. That’s right! They were nice enough to let me do a few voices. In this one, I play a few of the customers in the bar scene from just after the commercial in the middle.
The modern Crogan family starred Michael Booth as the dad (whose first name is revealed in episode 2, I think), Hero Van Harten as Eric, and Shannon Arnold as Cory.
The show was directed by Gregg Taylor, who did a darn fine job of things as he always does.
It’s free to download, and it’s free to listen to it online! You can also subscribe to Decoder Ring Theatre in iTunes. get listenin’!
Things Moriarty is bad at:
- Remembering to put his phone on silent
- Shoemaking
- Storytelling for children
- Being a profitable cabbie
- Being bored
Hey, I’m gonna make a couple of Sherlock Holmes paper figure sets for 221B con to go along with the existing BBC and canon mainstay sets (you can get ‘em at http://www.croganadventures.com in the paper figure section). But I ain’t gonna have time to make as many as I’d like, I expect. Here are the ones I’m thinking of:
• Young Sherlock Holmes
• Great Mouse Detective
• Villains of the canon (my interpretation of the Conan Doyle characters)
• Granada Holmes and Watson
• Sherlock Holmes characters if they were in the Star Wars Universe
Anyway, that’s what I’m thinking. I’m pretty sold on Young Sherlock (it’s always been one of my favorite Sherlock incarnations), but I’d love suggestions on the others. Or if there’s a set I’m not including that attendees would like to see.
