So one of my favorite audiobooks is Larry McMurtry’s Lonesome Dove (I liked it better aloud than I did reading it on paper, which is rare for me).  It’s got a huge cast of great characters, and I felt like drawing some of them up.  There are quite a few that I left out just because they never grabbed me (the Irish brothers, The Sugg gang, Elmira, Luke, and Big Zwey, the folks back in Arkansas, the duo that Janey hits with rocks, Blue Duck’s confederates, etc, etc.  Plus all the cowhands, and Louisa Brooks, the farmer with an eye for Roscoe.  Big Zwey and Louisa would’ve been especially fun to draw, but I can’t do everybody.

Problem is, I keep reading these books with dozens of main characters - Tai Pan and The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet, recently - and find myself wanting to draw everybody.  So much to draw, so little time.

Anyway, I’ve been posting these up a few at a time, but I figured heck, I’ll throw ‘em all up in one big swoop.

These are awesome. I like that they popped up on my dash just after I stayed up late finishing Lonesome Dove last night.
